Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive safety inspections on construction sites to identify hazards and ensure adherence to OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, NEC, and other relevant safety standards.
- Develop, implement, and monitor safety training programs tailored to construction workplace safety regulations and occupational health best practices.
- Manage risk assessments and contribute to risk management strategies that minimize workplace incidents and occupational health issues.
- Oversee compliance with electrical safety procedures, NFPA standards for fire prevention, and other construction safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incident reports, training sessions, and compliance documentation using construction management software.
- Collaborate with construction management teams to enforce OSHA regulations and occupational health policies while promoting a culture of safety awareness.
- Lead safety meetings, provide guidance on construction regulatory compliance, and support workers' compensation procedures when necessary.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of construction site safety regulations including OSHA, ANSI standards, NFPA standards, NEC codes, and occupational health requirements.
- Proven experience in construction management or construction site experience with a focus on safety management.
- Excellent risk management skills with the ability to identify hazards proactively and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and construction management software for recordkeeping and reporting purposes.
- Effective team leadership skills with the ability to train staff on safety procedures such as electrical safety procedures and first aid/CPR certification.
- Deep understanding of construction workplace safety regulations and compliance management practices.
- Ability to communicate clearly with diverse teams about occupational health issues, safety training implementation, and regulatory updates.
