The School’s Counseling and Human Development Department seeks a Clinical Assistant Professor of Counseling and Human Development, Non-Tenure Accruing Faculty, and Director of the Alexandria Community Counseling Service Center (CCSC-AGEC) for teaching and administrative responsibilities aligned with departmental needs and advancing the department’s goal of training anti-racist, multiculturally and social justice-oriented counselors for the counseling profession.
This position will start as early as Summer 2026.

George Washington University’s Graduate School of Education and Human Development (GSEHD) offers a number of graduate programs at the master’s, educational specialist, and doctoral levels that prepare students for a variety of leadership roles in diverse education settings in both the public and private sector.
The Department of Counseling and Human Development houses three master’s degree programs, several certificate programs, and a PhD in Counseling. The Rehabilitation Counseling program is ranked sixth in the US, according to US News and World Report. The department has partnerships with many field sites in the metropolitan DC area where its students can complete practicum and internship experiences.
