Part-Time Security Officer – Jewelry & Fine Mineral Gallery

About the Position
We are seeking a reliable, professional, and customer-focused Part-Time Security Officer to help protect a high-end jewelry and fine mineral/rock retail store. Flexible schedule required. Weekend, opening, and closing availability is mandatory. Shifts are typically 5 or 8 hours.
Responsibilities
· Monitor sales floor, entrances, exits, and surrounding property.
· Maintain a visible professional security presence.
· Help prevent theft, shoplifting, fraud, and other security risks.
· Observe and report suspicious activity and respond appropriately.
· Assist with opening and closing procedures.
· Complete incident reports and documentation.
· Assist with restocking merchandise while maintaining accountability for high-value inventory.
· Organize inventory displays and ensure merchandise is properly secured and accounted for.
· Assist with inventory counts, audits, and organization.
· Handle jewelry, minerals, fossils, and merchandise with care following inventory procedures.
· Support general store operations while maintaining security awareness.
· Follow company policies and applicable Colorado and federal laws.
Requirements
· 18+ years old
· Reliable transportation
· Ability to stand/walk extended periods
· Strong observation and communication skills
· Weekend, opening and closing availability required
· Authorized to work in the U.S.
· Background screening as permitted by law
