About Us
Upscale Packaging is a manufacturer of plastic and flexible packaging — LDPE/HDPE bags, OPP, and laminated films. We're growing and looking for a hands-on mechanic to help keep our production floor running at full speed.
What You'll Do
- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on production equipment
- Diagnose and fix mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues
- Support changeovers, set-ups, and minimize downtime on running lines
- Read and work from schematics, manuals, and machine documentation
- Maintain spare parts inventory and log all maintenance activity
- Work with operators and production leads to identify recurring issues and propose fixes
- Follow all safety and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures
What We're Looking For
- 2–4 years of hands-on machine mechanic experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude — comfortable with bearings, belts, gearboxes, motors, sensors, and pneumatics
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
- Welding, machining, or fabrication skills a plus
- Reliable, self-directed, and able to work independently once dispatched to an issue
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work around moving equipment
Nice to Have
- Experience with plastic bag converting equipment — blown film extruders, bag-making machines (wicketers, bottom seal, side seal, side-weld), flexo printing presses, laminators, slitters, or rewinders
- Basic PLC troubleshooting
- Bilingual English/Spanish
Pay: $16.50 - $19.00 per hour
