General Overview:
- Developing individualized education plans, implementing behavior management strategies, and fostering social and communication skills in students with autism.
- Individualized Education Programs (IEPs): Develop, execute, and consistently monitor specific IEP goals and objectives.
- Curriculum Adaptation: Modify general education materials and utilize evidence-based strategies to match students' learning styles.Behavior Management: Design and implement
- Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs), tracking behavioral data to reduce challenges and reinforce positive communication.
- Behavior Management: Proactively implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). Use positive reinforcement, de-escalation techniques, and crisis management strategies to maintain a safe classroom environment.
- Life Skills Instruction: Teach essential daily living, communication, and interpersonal skills to promote student independence.
- Team Collaboration: Guide special education paraprofessionals and collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, school psychologists, and parents.
- Progress Monitoring: Collect ongoing data on student progress to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Special Education, PA Certification in Special Education, De-escalation & Crisis Intervention: The ability to remain calm and utilize approved physical or verbal de-escalation methods to ensure safety during behavioral outbursts. Patience & Empathy: Strong capacity to build trust and connect with students who may be experiencing trauma, anxiety, or mood disorders. Organizational Skills: High attention to detail for handling heavy, legally binding special education paperwork and data tracking.
Pay: $53,923.00 - $65,200.00 per year
