Position Description
Company Summary:
Sol Canna cultivates premium, sustainably grown cannabis that enhances the recreational experience for our customers and employees while promoting wellness, community, and environmental stewardship. We are dedicated to quality cultivation, innovation, and responsible growing practices, ensuring that every plant is nurtured with care.
Our goal is to create a product that not only delivers an exceptional experience but also respects the planet and supports local communities. We strive to foster an inclusive and educational environment where the benefits of cannabis can be enjoyed responsibly and with intention.
Position Summary:
The Brand Ambassador / Marketing Coordinator is a dual-role position that bridges in-field brand representation with internal marketing execution. This individual serves as the face of Sol Canna in the Illinois cannabis marketplace — building relationships with dispensary partners, educating budtenders, and driving brand visibility at the point of sale — while simultaneously supporting the coordination of marketing campaigns, content production, and brand asset management.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable in front of a dispensary budtender team and behind a content calendar. They understand the Illinois cannabis landscape, can translate product quality into compelling stories, and are motivated by the challenge of growing a craft brand in a competitive market.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Brand Ambassador — In-Field Responsibilities
- Represent Sol Canna at dispensary accounts across Illinois, conducting budtender education sessions and product trainings
- Build and maintain strong relationships with dispensary staff, buyers, and managers to drive brand awareness and sales velocity
- Execute in-store activations, sampling events, and pop-up brand experiences in compliance with Illinois cannabis regulations
- Monitor shelf presence, product placement, and merchandising standards at retail partner locations
- Gather competitive intelligence and consumer feedback from the field and relay insights to the broader team
- Track visit frequency, account health, and budtender engagement activity using CRM or reporting tools
- Represent Sol Canna at industry events, trade shows, and cannabis community activations
- Serve as a brand storyteller — communicating the Sol Canna origin story, cultivar philosophy, and product differentiators with authenticity and enthusiasm
Marketing Coordinator — Internal Responsibilities
- Support the planning and execution of Sol Canna's marketing calendar, including product launches, seasonal campaigns, and wholesale promotions
- Coordinate content production across digital channels including Instagram, Facebook, and the Sol Canna website (sol-canna.com)
- Assist in the development and distribution of sales support materials including sell sheets, budtender guides, and product one-pagers
- Manage brand asset organization and ensure consistent application of Sol Canna visual identity across all touchpoints
- Track and report on social media performance, campaign KPIs, and in-market brand metrics
- Coordinate with external vendors, photographers, and creative partners as needed
- Support wholesale pitch preparation and account-facing presentation materials
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of BDSA market data, Illinois market trends, and competitive brand activity
- Assist in other duties assigned to ensure the team, department, and company maintain success
