Job Overview
We are currently looking for a Full-Time Assistant/Closer Teacher for our Childcare Program to assist in an assistant position to help in our preschool classrooms. We are looking for teachers that are passionate about teaching, possess the ability to collaborate and partner with parents and colleagues, and enjoy working with children.
Assistant Preschool Teachers are responsible for:
Assisting in....
General classroom management and supervision of children in their care. This includes, but is not limited to, positive guidance and discipline of children, personal care and hygiene.
Planning and implementing the center’s curriculum program. This includes assisting with preparing supplemental activities that enhance the curriculum, as well as targeting different areas of child development, such as language, motor and social skills.
Organizing activities so children can learn about the world, explore interests, and develop talents.
Follow schedules and routines to ensure children have enough physical activity, rest and playtime.
Collaborate and foster a positive relationship with parents and colleagues.
Keeping records of the students’ progress, routines, and interests, as well as keep parents informed about their child’s development.
Adhere to rules and regulations laid out in the Texas Minimum Standards for Child Care Centers.
Assist with serving lunch and snacks.
Supervising and monitoring children during naptime.
Willingness to open or close the center, if needed.
Assisting with the center’s additional Covid-19 cleaning procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities for preschool and toddler care.
- Support the lead teacher in managing behavior and promoting positive social interactions among children.
- Collaborate with the lead teacher in developing and implementing individualized plans for children with special needs, including those on the autism spectrum.
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for all children in the classroom.
- Assist with daily tasks such as mealtime, diapering, and maintaining cleanliness and organization of the classroom.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a preschool or daycare setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies.
- Familiarity with curriculum development for early childhood education.
- Ability to effectively communicate with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with young children.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
