Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead and continuously improve our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have10+ years of manufacturing management experience, preferably within the cabinetry, woodworking, furniture, millwork, building products, or similar manufacturing industry.
This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for managing production personnel, achieving daily and weekly production targets, improving manufacturing flow, identifying and eliminating bottlenecks, increasing productivity, and developing a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
We are looking for a leader who does more than maintain the existing process. The successful candidate will be expected to challenge current methods, identify opportunities for improvement, implement new ideas, and continuously improve safety, quality, throughput, efficiency, and manufacturing capacity.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all production personnel and day-to-day manufacturing activities.
- Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly production targets are achieved.
- Establish clear production goals and hold supervisors and employees accountable for performance.
- Monitor production KPIs, including throughput, labor efficiency, productivity, quality, downtime, scrap, rework, and on-time completion.
- Analyze manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks, constraints, waste, and inefficiencies.
- Develop and implement solutions to increase production capacity and improve overall manufacturing flow.
- Continuously evaluate plant layout, workflow, labor utilization, equipment utilization, and material movement.
- Implement process improvements using Lean Manufacturing, Just-in-Time (JIT), Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Apply bottleneck and constraint-management principles to maximize throughput.
- Develop standard work, procedures, and measurable performance expectations.
- Work closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Purchasing, Quality, Scheduling, and other departments to resolve production issues.
- Identify opportunities for automation, equipment upgrades, process redesign, and technology improvements.
- Reduce unnecessary labor, material handling, waiting time, downtime, scrap, and rework.
- Ensure proper staffing and allocation of employees based on production requirements.
- Coach, develop, and hold production supervisors and team members accountable.
- Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, urgency, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Participate in production planning and capacity planning to ensure manufacturing capabilities support company growth.
- Develop corrective action plans when production targets are not achieved and follow through until performance improves.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of manufacturing management experience, with significant responsibility for production teams and manufacturing performance.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated experience managing production employees and supervisors in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong track record of achieving production targets and improving manufacturing productivity.
- Proven ability to identify and eliminate production bottlenecks.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing KPIs, capacity, throughput, labor efficiency, and production planning.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to make decisions based on data and measurable results.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to establish expectations and hold teams accountable.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Experience or certification in one or more of the following is highly desirable:

Experience in cabinet manufacturing, woodworking, millwork, furniture, building products, or another high-volume manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.

We are looking for a results-oriented manufacturing leader who is comfortable being on the production floor, working directly with employees and supervisors, analyzing problems, and implementing practical solutions.
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
