About the role
An opportunity has arisen within the Production Department for a Paint Technician. The successful candidate will be based in Houston, TX and will report to the Production Manager. The Paint Technician is responsible for the preparation and application of protective coating for industrial and marine gas turbine parts. This includes maintenance of the plant and equipment in this area.

This an hourly non-exempt position.
An overview of your day
- Chemically clean industrial and marine gas turbine parts prior to the protective coating application.
- Prepares parts for protective coating process, including blasting and masking, and surface conditioning.
- Mix, prepare, and apply coatings in accordance with engineering specifications and work instructions.
- Monitor coating thickness, adhesion, and surface finish to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Perform comprehensive cleaning and maintenance tasks on parts, shop equipment, and tools, ensuring their proper functioning and longevity.
- Refer to technical manuals and engineering documents to ensure accurate preparation and painting of parts, adhering to industry standards and specifications.
- Complies with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) to handle materials safely and in compliance with regulations.
- Accurately document material usage, batch tracking, and production data.
- Uphold the highest quality standards while prioritizing safety and productivity in the work environment.
- Collaborate within a team and across the organization, contributing effectively to the overall workflow.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment (6S standards).
- Adhere to established quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Follow Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) policies, procedures, regulations, and instructions to maintain a safe workplace.
- Properly handle, store, and dispose of coating materials and chemicals.
What we need from you
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Previous industrial paint experience is a plus, 2-3 years of experience preferred.
- Proficient in fundamental mathematical operations, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals and fractions.
- Possesses a practical understanding of the usage of hand tools.
- Exhibits expertise in the proper utilization of paint guns and associated equipment.

Flexible Work Schedule
All regular full-time employees are eligible to participate in our flexible work schedule, which consists of five (5) workdays of eight (8) hours in one week and four (4) days of ten (10) hours in the second week for a total of eighty (80) hours during two (2) consecutive work weeks. The schedule allows every second Friday to be taken provided the agreed hours of work are fulfilled. Employees can “opt-out” and work the regular work week.
