IMCD US currently has an opening for a Technical Account Manager for our Beauty & Personal Care business unit. This role serves Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri and parts of Illinois and must be located in this region.
The Technical Account Manager will drive sales growth by managing key customer relationships and supporting strategic supplier partners. This role requires strong technical expertise to engage with customers and provide solution-based support, while actively identifying and closing new business opportunities. The Technical Account Manager role is a client-facing expert that ensures clients successfully use complex products to meet business goals. This role acts as a trusted advisor for technical support, proactive problem-solving, training, and driving satisfaction, retention, and growth through strategic guidance and deep product knowledge.

Responsibilities

Serves as the main point of contact for existing core accounts in a designated territory and identifies new targets for growth.

Conduct frequent planned visits, interacting on a recurrent basis with key customers.

Provides deep technical support, troubleshoots issues, and guides clients on product implementation, configuration, and best practices.

Proactively identify opportunities for clients to gain more value, suggest upgrades, and align technology with business objectives.

Support sales efforts by highlighting features, driving adoption, and identifying upsell/cross-sell opportunities.

Act as a conduit for customer feedback, relaying insights to development teams to improve products.

Educate clients on effective product usage, often through dedicated training sessions.
- Grows earnings per designated sales goals.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required with a preferred area of study in Business Administration, Marketing, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related technical degree.
Minimum 2 years’ sales, technical, lab, customer support, or inside sales experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience selling chemical or technical products.
Experience with distribution sales.
Experience with Salesforce
This role is hybrid, rotating between in-office and remote work environments. Access to reliable internet is a requirement.
This position requires up to 50% travel. Frequent travel is both local and outside the local area. Some travel is overnight.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
