Digital Prepress Operator
Are you an experienced prepress professional with a passion for precision and print quality? PrintMailPro is looking for a skilled Digital Prepress Operator to join our production team. If you have a strong background in digital printing, color management, and preparing files for production, we'd like to hear from you.
As a Digital Prepress Operator, you'll play a critical role in ensuring every job is production-ready and meets the highest quality standards before it reaches the press.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare, inspect, and optimize customer artwork for digital, and wide-format printing.
- Verify files for proper bleeds, margins, image resolution, fonts, color spaces, and print specifications.
- Create press-ready files using Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
- Perform imposition, trapping, and preflight checks.
- Produce accurate digital color proofs.
- Calibrate and maintain color management standards across production.
- Work closely with Customer Service, Designers, Press Operators, and Production Managers to ensure jobs move efficiently through production.
- Troubleshoot file issues and recommend solutions before production begins.
- Maintain organized job files and production documentation.
- Follow all company quality control procedures and production standards.
- Assist other production departments as workload requires.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of commercial digital prepress experience
- Experience operating with a digital workflow required.
- Advanced knowledge of:
- Adobe InDesign
- Adobe Illustrator
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Strong understanding of:
- Digital printing processes
- Color management
- CMYK and spot color workflows
- Bleeds, trapping, overprints, and imposition
- PDF/X standards
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting production deadlines.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with any of the following is a plus:
- RIP software
- Variable Data Printing (VDP)
- Fiery workflow
- Wide-format production
- Digital press workflows

- High school diploma or GED required.
- Commercial printing prepress experience required.
