Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal to maintain cleanliness throughout the facility
- Handle various cleaning agents and chemicals safely in accordance with chemical handling safety procedures
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and vacuums to ensure optimal floor care and sanitation
- Conduct heavy lifting tasks following safe lifting practices when moving furniture, supplies, or equipment
- Maintain floors through buffing, polishing, and other custodial techniques to preserve a professional appearance
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all cleaning activities to prevent accidents and ensure a secure environment
- Support facilities maintenance tasks as needed, including minor repairs or reporting larger issues for prompt resolution
Requirements
- Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures, sanitation standards, and chemical agent handling safety procedures
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and industrial vacuums effectively
- Physical ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently
- Customer service orientation with a friendly attitude towards staff and visitors
