Duties
- Mow lawns and trim grass using power tools such as mowers and trimmers to ensure neat, even surfaces.
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including planting, pruning, shrubbery trimming, and garden bed care to promote healthy growth.
- Use hand tools and power tools for tasks like edging, aerating soil, and installing or repairing irrigation systems.
- Maintain hardscape features such as pathways, patios, and retaining walls by cleaning, repairing, or installing new elements.
- Assist with tree care activities including trimming, pruning, and removal using appropriate equipment like chainsaws or excavators when necessary.
- Conduct snow plowing operations during winter months to keep pathways clear and safe for pedestrians and vehicles.
- Support construction projects related to landscaping or outdoor improvements by operating machinery like excavators or other heavy equipment under supervision.
Qualifications
- Basic mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools for outdoor work.
- Prior experience in lawn care, landscape maintenance, gardening, or related fields is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with landscaping techniques including planting, pruning, irrigation installation, and hardscape construction.
- Ability to operate equipment such as mowers, trimmers, excavators, snow plows, and other machinery safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of horticulture principles and tree care practices to support healthy plant growth.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to follow safety protocols while working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Excellent attention to detail combined with physical stamina for repetitive tasks like mowing or digging.
