Job Duties
· Communicate with all hotel department staff to stay informed of maintenance needs and ensure timely responses to requests.
· Understand and respond to customers’ needs and ensure a high level of guest satisfaction in least invasive methods possible.
· Organize supplies and make sure equipment is ready for the next day.
· Live up to high safety standards – follow guidelines and tell your supervisor about any incidents, dangerous conditions or unsafe equipment.
· Take responsibility for the safety and cleanliness of areas inside and outside the hotel, like the parking lot and pool. Following all Brand standards and requirements.
· Always keep an eye out for improvements – follow the preventative maintenance calendar and keep everything working and efficient.
· Repair or replace items around the hotel and refurbish items in guest rooms. By keeping on top of these tasks, you’ll keep our hotels looking great and working well.
· Comply with federal, state and local laws regarding health, safety and alcohol services.
· Keep your supervisor or duty manager in the loop and tell them about any low running supplies
· Be a friendly face and helping hand to our guests.
· Drive the company shuttle on weekends as needed.
· Be ready to take on extra duties as and when the team needs you.
Qualifications
· Weekends are required.
· Must be available to work evening shifts.
· License – you must have a valid drivers license.
· Experience – you’ll have at least one year of maintenance or repair work under your belt.
· Communication skills – Understand, respond to and handle guest and staff issues and requests in a clear and concise manner.
· You’ll be familiar with Microsoft Office, a building management program and/or any other reporting tools.
· On top of building equipment and hand tools, you’ll have a working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrics and preventative maintenance procedures.
· Literate and tech-savvy - you’ll need a good grasp of reading, writing, basic math and computers.
· This is a physical role and you’ll be on your feet most of the day, walking or standing. Lifting items up to 100 pounds. Frequent bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping and stretching.
· Advanced vocational training plus two years of experience in general building maintenance or construction, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Great communication skills, you’ll be warm, welcoming and easy to talk to. Fluency in the local language - extra language skills would be great, but not essential.
