Registered Nurse (Cardiac Services)
Classification: Hourly, Permanent Employee - Full Time
We are seeking a full-time Registered Nurse with a strong interest in cardiovascular care to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will assist with cardiac stress testing, EKG acquisition and recognition of general abnormal EKG patterns, patient monitoring, and other cardiac diagnostic services in an outpatient setting.
Pacific Cardiology Consultants coordinates care very closely with Guam Radiology Consultants and Guam Medical Imaging Center, where nuclear cardiac stress tests are performed. All are located in the same building.

Job Description
Outpatient nursing in a clinic setting with an emphasis on cardiovascular care. Responsibilities include conducting and monitoring exercise and pharmacological stress tests, obtaining EKGs, proficiency in rhythm recognition and other abnormalities, cardiac monitoring, patient assessment, IV access and medication administration, patient education, and assisting physicians with cardiac diagnostic procedures. The Cardiac Nurse will work closely with providers to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and educate patients and their families regarding cardiac procedures and testing.
- Perform and assist with exercise treadmill stress tests and pharmacological stress testing.
- Obtain, review, and recognize abnormalities in 12-lead EKGs and cardiac rhythm monitoring.
- Monitor patients during cardiac testing and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition.
- Perform comprehensive cardiovascular assessments, including obtaining vital signs and patient histories.
- Assist physicians with cardiac procedures and diagnostic testing as needed.
- Initiate and maintain intravenous (IV) access and administer medications as ordered.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures to ensure safety and comfort.
- Provide post-procedure care, patient education, and discharge instructions.
- Recognize and respond to cardiac emergencies under ACLS guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Ensure proper operation, maintenance, and quality control of cardiac testing equipment.
- Collaborate effectively with cardiologists, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Adhere to all clinic policies, safety standards, infection control protocols, and HIPAA regulations.
- Stay current with advancements in cardiovascular nursing and cardiac diagnostic testing.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and disease processes.
- Proficiency in obtaining EKGs and recognizing abnormalities.
- Experience performing and monitoring cardiac stress testing preferred.
- Excellent patient assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to recognize and respond promptly to cardiac emergencies.
- Strong communication and patient education skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and manage time effectively.
- Proficiency with EMR and medical software systems.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution of higher education preferred.
- Current and active State Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
Experience
- 1-2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) preferred. New graduates with a strong interest in cardiovascular care are encouraged to apply.
- Experience in Cardiology, Telemetry, Critical Care, Emergency Department, or Cardiovascular Services preferred.
- Experience with cardiac stress testing, cardiac monitoring, EKG interpretation, and IV therapy highly preferred.
- Experience using EMR systems and medical software preferred.
- Previous outpatient clinic experience is a plus.
Schedule
Work Week: Monday-Friday (7:00 AM-4:00 PM, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, or 9:00 AM-6:00 PM)
Weekend Work Required: Flexibility to work occasional Saturdays (7:00 AM-12:00 PM or 8:00 AM-1:00 PM)
Occasional emergency work hours may be required to accommodate urgent patient care needs.
