Role & Responsibilities
- Work in a team environment with respect and courtesy to all associates.
- Understand and follow company policies.
- Willingness to learn new equipment in other areas, as needed.
- Understand all quality documents and tools used to achieve excellent part quality.
- Able to set-up and operate screw machines in a safe and effective manor while minimizing downtime.
- Maintain part quality and adjust machine as needed.
- Ability to run two machines.
- Recommend changes to the set-up/operation process to improve efficiency.
- Accurately input production data into the proper data collection system.
- Be in your work area for your entire shift.
- Maintain a neat and orderly work environment.
Qualifications & Education Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Willingness to learn new things
- Able to work self-directed
- Good verifiable attendance record
- Able to read and comprehend shop floor blueprint drawings
- Proficient in both the Imperial and Metric systems of measurement
- Knowledge and proficiency in the use of the following inspection equipment: optical comparator, profilometer, roundness tester, universal gauge, hand gauges such as, but not limited to micrometers, calipers, pitch micrometers, internal ID gauges, radius gauges, indicators, height gauge, etc.
- Proper care and use of attribute gauges; i.e. thread rings, thread plugs, plug gauge, pipe thread rings and plugs, etc.
- Basic knowledge of SPC use and application
- Basic understanding of computers and their use
- Knowledge and understanding of ISO 9000
- Job is performed in a sitting position typically, but requires pushing, pulling, bending and lifting (not to exceed 50lbs)
- Strong visual observation
- Critical thinking skills
- Preferred experience with hydromats, grinders, broach and press machines.
