Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, suspensions, brakes, and air systems using schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, alignment, and fluid checks on heavy equipment such as semis and trailers
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to ensure proper fit and function.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform electrical repairs on heavy equipment and automotive systems to resolve issues efficiently.
- Use heavy lifting techniques safely when handling large parts or equipment; operate heavy machinery such as excavators or forklifts during repair or maintenance tasks.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and document all repairs performed to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Assist with assembly or disassembly of machinery components during repairs or upgrades while adhering to safety protocols.
- Hours Monday - Friday 8am-5pm
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, shocks & struts, brakes, suspension components, and electrical systems.
- Skilled in automotive diagnostics using schematics and diagnostic tools; capable of troubleshooting complex mechanical issues efficiently.
- Hands-on experience with heavy equipment
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment (including welding techniques), soldering irons, and other fabrication tools.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining high attention to detail during repairs or maintenance tasks.
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients or team members regarding repair needs or technical issues.
