Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation, including slicing, chopping, and assembling ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques.
- Follow recipes accurately to ensure consistency and quality in meal production.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, and food processors.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen appliances in accordance with food safety standards.
- Support meal service by preparing plates and assisting with catering events as needed.
- Adhere to food handling procedures and safety regulations to prevent contamination or spoilage.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth workflow during busy periods.
Skills
- Proven experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable.
- Strong background in food service or restaurant environments with knowledge of food industry standards.
- Experience in menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques.
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff and team members.
- Demonstrated proficiency in culinary skills such as knife handling, slicing techniques, and recipe adherence.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks including meal prep, cleaning, and food handling while maintaining high standards of hygiene.
- Catering experience is a plus, along with a passion for delivering quality meals in a fast-paced setting.
