Job Overview
Join our chiropractic clinic as an Office Administrative Assistant, and sometimes a Clinical Assistant. In this role, you will be the friendly face and efficient organizer behind the front desk greeting and escorting patients, dealing with patient data and computer entry, collecting payments, and corresponding with vendors, other providers and other professional entities. On the clinical side, you will also assist in providing some of the physiotherapy procedures periodically through the day. We start our clinical day at 7:30 am and end at ~ 6:30 pm, 4 days/week, M/T/W/F.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly, assist with check-in and check-out processes, and manage appointment scheduling using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Collect patient information, perform vital signs assessments in some cases; perform or coordinate data entry and transfer into the EHR system, including medical history, billing codes, etc.
- Preparing treatment rooms, assisting patients, monitoring room inventory;
- Assist with physiotherapy procedures including laser therapy and shockwave therapy; remove acupuncture needles from patients; help with DOT physicals.
- Maintain organized medical records and database transactions in the computer EHR system
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment, order supplies, and ensure readiness for daily clinical activities.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers/facilities for patient communication, ordering MRIs, or making referrals to other medical specialists.
Qualifications
- Sorry: no college students
- We want someone who will stay on board for a long time.
- Prior experience in a healthcare environment is helpful but not required.
- Must be physically able to handle, maneuver and touch patients in a clinical setting
- Medical terminology and/or anatomy will be trained on the job;
- Chiropractic Assistant education/certification will be provided.
- Familiarity with computer data entry and being comfortable with software is important, and daily logging and accounting in an electronic health record (EHR) system is essential.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to do basic math, good communication abilities, staying calm around patients in a an environment that can sometimes be busy are all required to succeed in this role.
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
