Prostar Mining is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Underground Development Miner to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving development drifts to precise plans using heavy machinery in an underground mine. This position requires technical expertise, a strong commitment to safety, and experience in underground hard rock operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scale, Support and Drill Development drifts using a jumbo.
- Interpret and follow drill plans, layouts, and instructions provided by supervisors or engineers.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections and routine maintenance of drilling equipment.
- Monitor drilling progress and adjust operations to meet quality and safety standards.
- Troubleshoot mechanical or operational issues and communicate concerns effectively to maintenance teams.
- Maintain detailed records of drilling activities, equipment usage, and material consumption.
- Adhere strictly to company and industry safety protocols and guidelines.

Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of underground jumbo drilling experience.
- Certifications: Current Underground Metal/Non-Metal MSHA 5000-23
- Strong understanding of underground mining or tunneling operations.
- Familiarity with various pieces of heavy machinery underground.
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding and challenging environment.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team setting.
Highly Desirable:
- Experience installing ground support with a twin boom jumbo.
- Experience cycle mining radius declines
- Experience operating Sandvik DD421
