Position Overview:
You'll play a key role in helping preserve and protect patients’ vision often working with individuals dealing with serious or sight-threatening conditions. Your work will truly make a difference.
As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will:
- Collect patient medical histories
- Perform preliminary eye exams and vision testing
- Capture high-quality eye images using specialized equipment
- Assist with dilated exams and minor in-office procedures
- Accurately chart patient data
- Provide compassionate, efficient care to every patient
You’ll be cross-trained and continuously supported in developing your clinical knowledge and skills.

Schedule:
- Monday–Friday, starting at 7:30 AM
- Typical end time around 4:00 PM- 5:00 PM (overtime may occur for end of day patients)
Locations:
- Main Office: Carmel, IN
- Satellite Offices: Bloomington, Greenfield, Muncie, and Avon, IN (we strive to schedule you as close to home as possible but ask that you are able to fill in to satellite offices if necessary)

Physical demands of this position:
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time. As a clinic technician, it is understood that you are not filling a position where you are sitting all or most of the day. You will need to be mobile to move patients throughout the clinic.
- Must have the manual dexterity to work with ophthalmic equipment and maneuver a patient if in a wheelchair.
- Must be able to accurately type information into EMR system.
- Must be able to have face-to-face conversations with patients and staff.
- Must have normal color vision and depth perception along with visual acuity correctable to 20/20.
- Requires exposure to communicable diseases and/or bodily fluids
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 per hour
