Echelon Payments is a high-growth payment processing company headquartered in Melville, NY, processing billions annually for merchants across the United States.
We are seeking a strategic and execution-focused CFO to join our executive team. This is a high-impact leadership role with full ownership of the finance function, from month-end close to long-range financial planning. You will report directly to the CEO and serve as a key advisor to the President, Executive team and Board of Directors.
What You'll Do:

Deliveraccurateandtimelyfinancial reporting

Drive financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including budgeting, modeling, and performance management

Own cash management, liquidity planning, and short- and long-range forecasting

Manage banking compliance, commercial banking relationships, and lending relationships

Oversee third-party billing management and on-statement billing workflows
-
Oversee residual payment processing and reconciliation
-
Coordinate with external auditors to prepare and deliver audited financial statements

Partner with tax advisors to develop and execute proactive tax strategies

Lead the evaluation,selection, and annual renewal of company insurance programs

Manage the ADP PEO relationship, including plan renewals, cost analysis, and benefits benchmarking

Provide strategic financial counsel to the CEO,President, Executive team, andBoard ofDirectors

Partner with the Head of HR on compensation planning, benefits strategy, and workforce cost management

Review and approve bi-weekly payroll in partnership with the senior accounting team, ensuring accuracy, compliance, andtimelyprocessing

Build, develop, and lead a high-performing finance team
Qualifications:
-
10+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience

Experience in payments, fintech, or merchant services is strongly preferred; familiarity with interchange, residuals, and payment processing economics is a significant plus

Master’sdegree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related required

CPA, CFA, or CMA strongly preferred

Prior VP of Finance, Director of Finance, Controller, or CFO experiencerequired

Proven experience in payments, fintech, or high-growth B2B environments preferred

Track recordof leading finance teams and cross-functional collaboration

Deep knowledge of corporate finance: budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and long-range planning

Strongproficiencyinfinancial managementsoftware (QuickBooks or equivalent)

Advanced Excel; familiarity with Power BI, or similar analytics tools a plus

Experiencewithcloud softwaresuch asSalesforce,Ramp, andClickUp

Hands-onexperience with SOC 1internal controls and financial audit framework
