Standard Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
This position is part of our standard 50-hour workweek schedule. Additional overtime and occasional Saturdays may be required based on project needs, weather conditions, and customer schedules.
Candidates must be willing to be flexible as project demands and schedules may change.
Position Summary:
The Heavy Equipment Preventive Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing scheduled preventative maintenance and lubrication services on Geotex's fleet of heavy construction equipment. This position operates a mobile service truck to travel between jobsites, ensuring equipment is properly serviced, inspected, and maintained to maximize uptime and support safe, efficient field operations.
Position Responsibilities:

Safely operate a mobile service truck between assigned project locations.

Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, including lubrication, oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid services on heavy construction equipment.

Inspect equipment and check engine oil, hydraulic oil, coolant, DEF, fuel, and other fluid levels.

Collect, label, document, and prepare oil samples for analysis as required.

Inspect equipment for leaks, excessive wear, damaged components, and other maintenance or safety concerns.

Accurately complete preventative maintenance records and service documentation.
-
Communicate maintenance findings and equipment repair needs to supervisors and shop personnel.

Maintain an organized inventory of lubricants, filters, fluids, and maintenance supplies on the service truck.
-
Keep the service truck, tools, and work area clean and in safe operating condition.
-
Follow all OSHA regulations, DOT requirements, environmental regulations, and Geotex safety policies.

Work safely around heavy equipment, excavation activities, and active construction sites.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
-
High school diploma or GED preferred.
-
Minimum of two (2) years of experience performing preventative maintenance on heavy equipment, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, commercial trucks, or similar diesel-powered machinery.

Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify equipment deficiencies and perform routine preventative maintenance.

Valid Class B CDL with a clean driving record.
-
Ability to accurately complete maintenance records and service documentation.

Ability to safely operate a mobile service truck and work independently across multiple jobsites.
-
Working knowledge of safe operating procedures around heavy construction equipment and active construction sites.

Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship and safety.
-
Ability to work a standard 50-hour workweek with additional overtime and occasional Saturdays as required.
-
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Preferred:
-
Hazmat and Tanker endorsements.
-
Experience servicing excavators, dozers, wheel loaders, skid steers, articulated trucks, rollers, and other heavy construction equipment.

Experience with preventative maintenance programs, lubrication systems, and oil sampling procedures.

Basic knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and equipment diagnostics.

Experience using electronic or computerized maintenance records.
-
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
Physical Demands:

Must be able to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, and lifting.

Must be able to pick up, lift, carry, and move up to 80 pounds.

Must be able to work in all weather conditions while wearing appropriate PPE.

Must be able to safely work around heavy equipment, excavation activities, and active construction sites.

Compensation: $33.00 - $35.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
Compensation includes the opportunity for consistent overtime through our standard 50-hour work schedule.
