Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential, person-centered support to individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting safety, independence, dignity, and quality of life. Services are delivered in a group home.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and meal preparation
- Provide care and support in accordance with individualized Care Plans and TQRS policies
- Observe, monitor, and document changes in health status, behavior, and overall well-being
- Administer medications as prescribed and in compliance with CMT training and HIPAA regulations
- Support and engage individuals in meaningful activities that promote social interaction, independence, and personal development
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment, including light housekeeping duties
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and interdisciplinary team members to implement Care Plans effectively
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance overall well-being
Required Skills and Qualifications
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred
- Experience working in group homes
- Strong observation skills to identify changes in behavior or health conditions
- Knowledge of caregiving techniques for individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism and dementia
- Ability to safely assist with lifting, transfers, and mobility support
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with individuals served, families, and team members
- Understanding of person-centered and strengths-based support principles
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.50 per hour
