Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in various settings, including assisted living, home health, and community care environments. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe for any changes in health or behavior, documenting findings accurately
- Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA privacy regulations
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and laundry
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices to ensure safe patient transfers and mobility support
- Provide companionship and emotional support, engaging clients in social activities to promote mental well-being
Requirements
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer’s care), memory care, hospice care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism
- Valid certifications such as CPR, First Aid, and HIPAA compliance are required; additional certifications like medication administration or heavy lifting training are a plus
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments while maintaining professionalism and compassion
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely when necessary for patient transfers or mobility assistance
