- Follow food safety sanitizing procedures to maintain a clean and hygienic workspace
- Package meat products securely for retail display or customer orders, adhering to packaging standards
- Support butchery activities by learning knife skills and meat cutting techniques under supervision
- Conduct visual inspections for quality control, identifying any perishable goods that do not meet safety or quality standards
- Maintain accurate inventory records and manage perishable goods to minimize waste and ensure freshness
Skills
- Basic knowledge of food production, preparation, and handling within a food industry setting
- Familiarity with food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures
- Strong attention to detail for visual inspection and quality control of perishable goods
- Ability to operate kitchen tools safely, including knives for trimming and slicing meat products
- Excellent customer service skills to assist shoppers with product selection or inquiries
