Duties:
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes and quality standards
- Assist with meal preparation and menu planning
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure timely and efficient food service
- Assist with catering events as needed
Experience:
- Previous experience in the food industry, preferably as a line cook or prep cook
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Familiarity with menu planning and meal preparation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Skills:
- Food handling: Ability to handle, prepare, and store food safely and hygienically
- Dietary aide: Knowledge of dietary restrictions and ability to accommodate special dietary needs
- Dietary department: Understanding of the operations and procedures in a dietary department
- Meal preparation: Experience in preparing meals according to recipes and portion sizes
- Catering: Ability to assist with catering events, including setup, serving, and cleanup
- Food safety: Knowledge of proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices
- Culinary: Basic culinary skills, including knife techniques, cooking methods, and flavor profiles
- Cook: Proficiency in cooking techniques such as sautéing, grilling, baking, etc.
- Food industry: Familiarity with the workings of the food industry, including trends and best practices
- Menu planning: Ability to assist with menu planning based on customer preferences and dietary requirements
