We are offering a sign - on bonus for our part-time and full-time technologist positions, as well as additional pay for any X-Ray Technologist trained in additional modalities including Mammo and CT. ($7+ per hour!)

License/Certifications: NYS DOH Licensed in Diagnostic Radiology ARRT Diagnostic Radiography or eligible BLS.
Experience: New graduates happily accepted (and offered a new grad sign on bonus!) Hospital based experience of 1 year preferred.

Duties:
- Adheres to standard safety practices and job, department and Columbia Memorial Hospital policies and procedures related safety.
- Participates in training and development activities in accordance with Columbia Memorial Hospital policies and practices.
- Displays good guest relations and positive attitude toward all Hospital visitors, patients and vendors, etc.
- Demonstrates competence and proficiency with imaging and support equipment
- Practice of radiation safety, (ALARA) Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, and staff.
- Explains the procedure to the patient or parent/guardian to facilitate cooperation and alleviate patient anxiety
- Rotates as needed on all shifts as requested and performs the duties that shift; regularly responds to an "on-call" basis as the need arises, as evidenced by the time card.
- Ensures patient safety when in the radiographic room by employing the necessary mechanical devices to prevent patients from injuring themselves.
- Performs exams in X-ray or other modalities trained and qualified as needed and determined by Manager.
- Demonstrates the ability to assess a situation from a variety of perspectives, considers alternatives and selects the appropriate course of action, as evidenced by supervisory observation.
- Presents the department in a positive manner to patients, families, significant others and hospital personnel, 100% of the time as evidenced by supervisory observation.
- Utilizes support personnel effectively so as to concentrate on patient care responsibility.
- Reports to department on time and ready to work at the start of the shift.
- Demonstrates a good working knowledge of the HIS/RIS and PACS.
Requirements:
Physical/Visual/Mental Demands:
- Requires frequent transfer of patients from stretcher/wheelchair to examination table
- Requires frequent use of computer terminal, calculator, telephone, etc.
Confidentiality:
- Responsible for maintaining confidentiality of materials reproduced.
- Responsible for confidentiality of patient information.
