Job Description
We are looking to fulfill full time positions at our Mercer Island Cafe! Shifts are between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. and typically last 6-8 hours. The ability to work on holidays and weekends is required.
Café Team Responsibilities:
- Processing customer transactions at registers.
- Prepares and serves hot and cold beverages, such as coffee and tea; correctly customizes orders as requested.
- Prepare and serve hot and cold food and baked goods.
- Describes product details to customers.
- Ensure customer service stations are properly stocked with paper products or beverage preparation items.
- Café cleaning tasks, such as washing dishes, sweeping, moping, and trash disposal.
- Cleans and sanitizes service and seating areas.
- Ensure proper functioning of freezers, refrigerators, and heating by routinely checking temperatures in that equipment.
- Stocks supplies and retail products.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Compensation:
Starting Wage: $21.30 - $21.30
Wage Range: $21.30 - $24.76
Café Team Job Requirements:
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Must be18 years old or older.
- Good attitude and receptive to feedback.
- Current Food Handler's Permit or the ability to get one.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Ability to move and work quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to lift 30 lbs. occasionally.
- Energetic, positive, and task oriented.
- Adaptable to a changing environment and able to take on new tasks as needed.
- Reliable transportation to work.
- Ability to work all weekends and holidays.
- Be punctual.
- Be able to work early in the morning.
- Previous food service or barista experience is a plus but not required.
- Ability to stand and walk for 8 hours.
