Summary
To provide training and support for students, business co-workers, families, and district personnel to ensure success during the worksite rotations and/or a competitive job.
Position Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the following requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or Associates Degree preferred with experience working with individuals with disabilities.
Must Possess a Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record as determined by a motor vehicle report.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Acceptable results: PA Criminal Record Check/ Child Abuse Background Check/ Federal Background Check
Physical examination by an agency approved physician
First Aid, CPR, and CPI courses within an acceptable time frame, if required.
Experience working with individuals with ID is preferred
Essential Duties and Responsibilities including the following and other duties as assigned.
Provides individualized support for student at the host business worksite rotation or competitive job which includes job coaching, building natural supports, identifying job accommodations, assistive technology, etc.
Communicates effectively with the Project SEARCH Instructor, other job coaches, employers, co-workers, family members, and school and agency personnel as it relates to the student receiving training services.
Carries out steps of job coaching plan with students and other parties as appropriate.
Work with consumers, employers, families, job placement specialist, agency personnel, affiliate school personnel and other appropriate parties to problem solve issues related to training and employment.
Provides travel training when necessary.
Evaluates applicants for employment services.
Determines suitable job or business consistent with applicants’ desires aptitudes, and physical, mental and emotional needs.
Plans and arranges for applicant to study or train for employment.
