Make a difference in the daily life of a young person.
Stepping Stones NW is a Qualified Residential Treatment Program (QRTP) in Vancouver, Washington, serving up to three youth ages 7–17 with complex behavioral health needs. We are licensed by Washington DCYF, contracted under BRS, and pursuing Joint Commission accreditation. Our team practices trauma-informed care, Right Response de-escalation, and evidence-based daily routines.
We are hiring Direct Care Professionals to join our team. This is meaningful, hands-on work — three youth, one program, real relationships.
Who we're looking for
- Compassionate adults (21+, per Washington WAC 110-145-2690) who want to mentor youth through one of the hardest seasons of their lives
- Calm under pressure — you can hold steady when a youth is escalating
- Reliable, consistent, on time — youth in placement need predictable adults
- Open to learning trauma-informed practice, Right Response, and medication pass procedures
- Comfortable with documentation (we use Therap) and end-of-shift handoffs
What you'll do
- Be the steady adult presence on shift — meals, school support, recreation, community outings, bedtime
- Coach youth through hard moments using Right Response de-escalation
- Support medication pass under Lead Staff oversight
- Respond to emergencies with the team — fire, medical, lockdown drills
- Document the shift in Therap so the next team picks up cleanly
What we offer
- $22–$24/hour DOE with documented step increases tied to competency and tenure
- Paid training: First Aid/CPR, Right Response, Bloodborne Pathogens, Mandated Reporter, HIPAA
- A 30–60 day shadow-shift onboarding ramp — you are never thrown in alone
- Lead Staff on every shift to coach you in real time
- Clear policies, posted shift checklists, and a binder for every procedure — no guessing
- Meaningful work — three youth, one program, real relationships
