We are a San Francisco family (Castro/Noe Valley) seeking a specialized pediatric home caregiver for our son, age 3 3/4, who has dystonic cerebral palsy (GMFCS IV-V).
He has a GJ-tube, daily nebulizer treatments, and an active intensive home therapy program running 5 days/week alongside a DMI-certified PT, SLP, OT, and feeding therapist. This is a medical caregiving role, not standard childcare.
Daily responsibilities include:
- GJ-tube feeds and medications (separate gastric and jejunal ports)
- Tube site monitoring and escalation protocols
- Morning nebulizer administration (~45 min)
- Assisting PT during treadmill and gait sessions
- Therapy carryover between clinician appointments
- Transport to weekly PT appointments (own car required)
You will not be operating alone - all protocols are written, a full clinical team is on-site during sessions, and a paid one-week orientation ensures you are fully prepared before starting independently.
Start date July 6, 2026. Part time 20-25 hrs/week with occasional overnights possible. Transitioning to full time early 2027 when dual infant and child care begins - rate steps up accordingly. W-2 at $30-$38/hr part time, $32-$40/hr full time. California paid sick leave. Mileage reimbursed at IRS rate.
GJ-tube and medically complex pediatric experience strongly preferred. CNA or HHA background a plus.
Requirements:
- Valid CA driver's license and reliable personal vehicle
- CPR and First Aid certified or willing to certify by July 6
- Authorized to work in the US - background check required
- Non-smoker
- Comfortable with a medium-sized dog in the home
