Cut List / Production Coordinator – Custom Steel Fabrication
Corson Fabricating is hiring a Cut List / Production Coordinator for an office-based position that works closely with our shop floor.
The person in this role will review customer drawings and fabrication prints and convert them into accurate cut lists and organized production information for saw operators, machinists, fitters, welders, powder coaters, and shipping personnel.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret fabrication, assembly, and detail drawings.
- Create accurate cut lists from customer prints.
- Identify material types, sizes, lengths, quantities, and cut angles.
- Identify tubing, angle, channel, flat bar, plate, sheet, structural shapes, and other components.
- Recognize machining, drilling, tapping, holes, slots, and other secondary-operation requirements.
- Prepare job information for production departments.
- Identify powder-coating, finishing, assembly, and shipping requirements.
- Maintain cut lists and production documents using a computer.
- Communicate with supervisors and shop personnel about drawing questions or discrepancies.
- Identify drawing, material, quantity, and fabrication issues before production begins.
Qualifications
- Experience in custom steel fabrication or manufacturing is preferred.
- Ability to read fabrication and mechanical drawings is required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
- Familiarity with common steel materials and fabrication processes is an asset.
- Comfortable working with fractions, decimals, and imperial and metric measurements.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
- Able to manage multiple jobs and priorities accurately.
Training will be provided on Corson Fabricating’s procedures, software, cut list formats, and production workflow.
You do not need to have held this exact position before. Experience as a fabricator, fitter, welder, machinist, saw operator, steel detailer, estimator, production coordinator, or in a similar role may provide a strong foundation for success.
