Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Inside Sales Estimator to join our team, driving growth through precise and competitive project estimates. In this role, you will collaborate closely with clients, project managers, and suppliers to develop accurate cost projections for commercial construction projects. Your expertise in interpreting technical drawings, managing material costs, and utilizing estimating software will be essential in delivering comprehensive bids that align with project specifications and client expectations. Responsibilities
- Respond to customer bid requests, including internal requests from AEC
- Research on-line bid opportunities
- Clarify electrical testing scope of work with clients and engineers, working with the Outside Sales Engineer
- Analyze and interpret electrical blueprints, specs, and addendums
- Obtain vendor pricing for repairs, parts, and engineering quotes
- Prepare computer-based estimates using complete scope takeoffs
- Join bid strategy meetings when requested
- Generate final bid proposals
- Keep files of working documents
- Create proposal reports, bid statuses, and PO records
- Prepare draft proposals for Sales Engineer review
- Help hand off contracts to the Operations Department with the Sales Engineer
- Assist with follow-ups on submitted proposals with the Sales Engineer
- Support public relations and sales events like job walks and presentations
- Give field support during shutdowns when needed
- Uphold AEC values of safety, reliability, quality, integrity, and teamwork
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing projects as a construction estimator within the commercial construction industry.
- Strong proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid or equivalent; experience with Bluebeam is highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of construction management software platforms and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Excellent blueprint reading skills coupled with the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately.
- Demonstrated expertise in cost management, material cost estimating, and budgeting for construction projects.
- Skilled in negotiation, client communication, and contract review processes.
- Knowledge of Xactimate or similar estimating tools is a plus.
- Construction site experience or hands-on familiarity with construction processes enhances estimation accuracy.
- Ability to analyze spreadsheets, review construction drawings thoroughly, and identify material requirements from blueprints effectively.
- Strong background in managing contracts, controlling costs, and estimating for commercial projects across various sectors.

Pay: $57,903.09 - $69,732.76 per year
