Civil Engineering Land Development Project Engineer
Our Project Engineer is a senior member of the design team that can manage multiple resources and projects. As a Civil Engineering Land Development Project Engineer for Watermark Engineering Resources based in our Aurora, IL office, you will be responsible for leading Designers and support staff as well as implementing the design for commercial and residential development projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead a team of Designers and related support staff.
- Work on and lead initial project layouts that are code compliant and meet client needs.
- Implementing and overseeing permitting process and permitting strategies to help our clients meet their project delivery deadlines.
- Develop construction costs for all projects and ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within scope and budget.
- Work on, and lead civil efforts on, engineering designs and preparing reports, construction drawings, specifications, and calculations for various projects.
- Knowledge and experience with stormwater calculations and permitting.
- Experience with Municipal, IEPA, IDOT, MWRD, and NPDES Permitting.
- Ability to manage multiple resources (directly and indirectly) through project completion.
- Cross group collaboration with clients, our team, and other consultants.
- Must be comfortable with public speaking.
Job requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in relevant land development civil engineering project design.
- Familiarity with current software used in stormwater management design.
- Understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic conditions, water quality and Best Management Practice (BMP) design techniques.
- A solid grasp of soil erosion and sedimentation control measures and knowledge of regulatory agency laws, ordinances, and regulations.
- Proficient with AutoCAD; experience with Civil 3D a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills to generate clear and concise documentation.
- Prepare and present projects to Municipal Commissions and Boards.
- Great attitude and ability to work with a team.
- BS in Civil Engineering, P.E. license or short-term goal to obtain licensure is required.
