As a key member of GFL’s dynamic team the Environmental Operations Assistant will provide support to our Fleet and Operations groups in addition to warehouse support.
Job Duties:
- Sample inbound material, conduct screening analysis, record results
- Completion of hazardous waste manifests and cross border shipments
- Ensure accurate data entry
- Operate indoor forklift
- Unloading, loading, and labelling of hazardous waste
- Maintain a high level of organization in a fluid environment
- Communicate and liaise with customers and vendors
- Housekeeping to maintain a safe work area
- Respond to emergencies and help with spills clean-up, if necessary
- Ensure all work complies with Safety Standards and all applicable Regulations
- Maintain good working relationship with coworkers and customers
- Some overtime required
- Other duties as requested by Manager
Requirements:
- Environmental background preferred, but not required
• Strong organizational skills
• Keen attention to detail
• Exemplary communication skills
• Strong computer skills, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Awareness and understanding of waste management, RCRA, is an asset
• Ability to work in an office and warehouse environment
