Position Summary:
The Equipment Cleaner is responsible for cleaning, detailing, and preparing heavy equipment, trucks, and support vehicles for service, inspection, and deployment. This entry-level role supports daily shop and yard operations, helping ensure equipment readiness, organization, and a safe working environment. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in an active industrial setting.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Clean and detail heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, and support vehicles using pressure washers, steam cleaners, and appropriate cleaning agents.

Remove mud, grease, oil, asphalt, and debris to prepare equipment for service, inspection, or use.

Clean components including engine bays, undercarriages, radiators, and operator cabs.

Apply cleaning products and corrosion inhibitors in accordance with safety and manufacturer guidelines.

Maintain wash bay equipment and ensure the area remains clean, organized, and fully operational.

Assist mechanics with basic tasks such as cleaning work areas, removing components, and organizing tools and materials.

Support movement of equipment, attachments, and materials within the yard (training and certification provided as required).

Organize parts, hoses, and equipment in designated storage locations.

Dispose of waste materials, including fluids and scrap, in accordance with environmental policies.

Maintain overall yard cleanliness and organization, including debris removal and proper equipment staging.

Follow all company safety policies and applicable OSHA/MSHA regulations, including proper use of PPE and safe chemical handling.

Ensure compliance with environmental standards related to wash water containment and disposal.

Identify and report spills, leaks, or unsafe conditions promptly.

Participate in safety meetings and ongoing training initiatives.

Assist with equipment staging, trailer loading, and general yard support activities.

Support seasonal maintenance tasks such as snow removal or site preparation.

Assist with inventory handling, tagging, and tracking of equipment and materials.

Perform additional duties as assigned to support shop and operational needs.
Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

0–2 years of experience in a shop, yard, or industrial environment (training provided).

Valid driver’s license.

Ability to safely operate pressure washers and basic hand tools.

Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.

Commitment to safety, teamwork, and maintaining a clean work environment.
Preferred Experience:

Valid Class B CDL license or ability to obtain.

Experience working with heavy equipment, trucks, or mechanical systems.
Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry materials up to 75 pounds.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.

Frequent use of hands and tools requiring coordination and manual dexterity.

Ability to work in wet, dirty, and physically demanding conditions.

Required use of PPE (hard hat, safety vest, steel‑toe boots) in operational areas.
