Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Mortgage Loan Officer Assistant to join our dynamic financial services team. In this vital support role, you will assist mortgage loan officers throughout the loan origination process, ensuring smooth operations from initial client contact to loan closing. Your expertise will help facilitate compliance with industry regulations, streamline documentation, and enhance customer service experiences. Duties
- Assist mortgage loan officers with loan origination processes, including gathering client information and preparing documentation
- Ensure all loan files comply with FNMA (Fannie Mae), TRID (TILA-RESPA Integrated Disclosure), and other federal and state lending regulations
- Support loan processing by reviewing credit analysis, verifying income, assets, and employment details
- Manage loan documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness for underwriting and closing procedures
- Coordinate communication between clients, underwriters, escrow officers, and other stakeholders to facilitate timely loan approvals
- Maintain knowledge of mortgage servicing procedures, including escrow accounts and mortgage payments
- Support compliance efforts by adhering to Fair Housing regulations and banking regulatory standards
Requirements
- Prior experience as a loan officer assistant or in a similar financial services role within the mortgage industry preferred
- Strong understanding of FNMA guidelines, FHA (Federal Housing Administration) loans, VA (Veterans Affairs) loans, and conventional mortgage loans
- Familiarity with mortgage servicing system Encompass
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation and communication purposes
- Knowledge of TILA (Truth in Lending Act), TRID compliance requirements, and overall loan regulation standards
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients and team members
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately and efficiently, including 10-key typing skills
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail
- Commitment to upholding compliance with all loan documentation standards and industry regulations
