Position Overview
North County Cosmetic & Implant Dentistry is seeking a motivated, patient-focused Dental Assistant to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about providing exceptional patient care, enjoys working in a collaborative environment, and takes pride in delivering an outstanding clinical experience.
As a Dental Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting our doctors during a wide variety of procedures while helping educate patients about their oral health and our Complete Health philosophy. We are looking for a team member who is organized, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of patient care and infection control.
Schedule
Monday – Thursday | 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms before and after patient appointments.
- Ensure operatories are clean, organized, fully stocked, and ready for patient care.
- Review and update patient health histories.
- Assist the dentist during a variety of procedures utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Clean, sterilize, and process instruments following established infection control protocols.
- Package cassettes and individual instruments for sterilization.
- Take and organize digital dental radiographs, intraoral images, and extraoral photographs.
- Complete accurate clinical documentation and SOAP notes.
- Document treatment thoroughly within the electronic health record.
- Schedule follow-up appointments, post-operative visits, deliveries, and continuing care appointments before patient dismissal.
- Assist with treatment charting and become familiar with dental procedure coding within DTX.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, preventive care, and post-operative instructions.
- Communicate the relationship between oral health and overall health while supporting our Complete Health Dentistry philosophy.
- Collaborate with doctors and team members to provide an exceptional patient experience.
Qualifications
- Current California Dental Assistant certification as required by state regulations.
- Current X-ray certification required.
- Current CPR certification required.
- Previous dental assisting experience preferred.
- Experience with Dentrix and DTX software is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude, professionalism, and a team-oriented mindset.
- Passion for patient education and delivering concierge-level customer service.
