2nd Shift Roll Thread Operator
The Roll Thread Operator is responsible for setting up new and recurring jobs on various rolling machines and maintaining quality and production during run as well as cleaning the machine when job is complete to prepare for the next order.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Checking rolling staging board for next production job card.
· Clean, fill oils and coolants.
· Change roll and knurl dies.
· Adjust machine setup to meet print specifications.
· Understand and set control monitors.
· Adjust die pressure.
· Pull dies and tooling.
· Able to check product refer to (SOP RD-007) Product Pan Containment.
· Rail adjustments and unjams at the dies.
· Dump tubs of blanks into hopper to be rolled.
· Use go/no go ring gage on machine screws.
· Check and gage work with appropriate gage on in-progress inspection log (QMF 22A Issue 3).
· Dump rolled parts and change skids/tubs with forklift or pallet jack.
· Weigh in and log production.
· Inspect set-up samples and submit them to OC for first pc inspection.
· Clean/wash roller after job completion removing all old blanks.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Capability to work from verbal instructions.
· Ability to use power tools/hand tools.
· Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
· Ability to effectively read, write and communicate in English.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Minium of 2 years’ related experience required.
Forklift experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift/move and/or push/pull up to 50 lbs.
Ability to stand and walk for 8-10 hours per shift in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching to access machinery and perform repairs.
Comfortable working in areas with high noise levels, heat from extrusion processes, and exposure to lubricants, chemical and moving machinery.
Use of one or both hands grasp, move, or assemble objects.
Typical Hours:
4pm - 2am
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
