Position Purpose
The finance organization is seeking a highly motivated Financial Analyst to drive strategic financial planning and long-term decision support for the business. This role sits at the intersection of corporate strategy and finance — building the models, analyses, and materials that shape how leadership and the Board think about capital allocation, growth investments, and multi-year business direction.

Essential Job Functions
Strategy & Long-Term Planning
Develop and maintain long-range financial models and scenario analyses that support the company's multi-year strategic plan and growth pillars
Analyze market trends, competitive positioning, and industry benchmarks to inform strategic recommendations
Partner with Senior Management to evaluate strategic initiatives, new business opportunities, and growth investments
Capital Allocation
Build financial models and business cases (ROI, proformas, NPV/IRR) to evaluate capital projects and investment opportunities
Support prioritization of capital spend across the business, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and return thresholds
Analyze and challenge capital appropriation requests to ensure viability, accuracy, and completeness
Board and Executive Material Preparation
Prepare polished, executive-ready presentations and materials for Board meetings and senior leadership reviews
Distill complex financial and operational data (Sales, Gross Margin, Inventory, Payroll) into clear executive summaries and key takeaways
Anticipate leadership and Board-level questions, ensuring materials are accurate, well-sourced, and defensible
Core FP&A Support
Support the annual budget process, incorporating strategic initiatives, economic trends, and operational effectiveness
Perform variance analysis, forecasting, and ad-hoc reporting to support business unit financial goals
Drive standardization and process improvement across planning and reporting practices
Implement and maintain Business Intelligence tools and dashboard reporting
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in finance or business, and/or relevant experience in strategic finance
Experience in FP&A, strategic finance, corporate development, investment banking, or consulting
Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, and SQL
Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills, including experience building business cases and ROI/NPV analyses
Retail industry knowledge a plus
Strong executive communication skills — verbal, written, and presentation — with experience preparing materials for senior leadership or Board audiences
Proven ability to manage cross-functional business partnerships in a fast-paced, complex environment
Organized, self-directed, and comfortable operating with ambiguity and competing deadlines
PHYSICAL/SENSORY REQUIREMENTS
Sedentary Work – Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
