Convenience Store / Restaurant Operations

The Assistant District Manager (ADM) supports the District Manager in overseeing the daily operations, financial performance, and team leadership across a group of convenience store/restaurant locations.
This role acts as a critical link between store-level management and district leadership, ensuring consistent execution of brand standards, food safety protocols, customer service expectations, and profitability goals. The ADM will frequently assume full district responsibilities in the District Manager's absence and is expected to develop into a District Manager role.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct regular store visits across the district to assess operational compliance, cleanliness, food safety, merchandising, and customer service standards.

Support store managers in troubleshooting daytoday operational issues, including staffing gaps, equipment failures, and inventory shortages.

Ensure all locations comply with health department regulations, company safety policies, and brand operating standards.

Assist in opening new store locations, including staffing, training, and initial operational setup.

Monitor sales, labor costs, food/beverage cost percentages, and shrink across assigned stores.

Assist in developing and managing storelevel budgets and identifying costsaving opportunities.

Analyze P&L statements with store managers and develop action plans to correct unfavorable trends.

Support inventory management, cash handling audits, and loss prevention initiatives.

Coach, mentor, and support store managers and assistant managers in leadership, operations, and customer service.

Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of storelevel management and staff.

Conduct performance evaluations and support disciplinary actions in partnership with HR and the District Manager.

Deliver or oversee training on food safety, POS systems, customer service, and company policies.

Help build bench strength by identifying and developing highpotential employees for promotion.

Monitor customer feedback, mystery shop results, and online reviews; partner with store teams to address gaps.

Ensure consistent execution of promotional programs, product launches, and merchandising resets.

Resolve escalated customer complaints that store management is unable to settle
independently.

Ensure adherence to food safety certifications (e.g., ServSafe), labor law compliance, and OSHA standards.

Support audits (internal and external) and ensure timely correction of any deficiencies.

Enforce company policies related to cash handling, inventory control, and loss prevention.

Prepare and present operational and financial reports to the District Manager and senior leadership.

Maintain accurate records of store visits, action plans, and followup items.

Assist in scheduling, payroll review, and labor forecasting across the district.

Required:

3+ years of multiunit or singleunit management experience in convenience retail, quickservice restaurant (QSR), or hospitality industry.

Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales and profitability targets.

Strong knowledge of KPI performance, labor scheduling, and inventory control.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (frequent travel between store locations required).

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Preferred:

Prior experience supporting or managing multiple locations.

Food safety certification (ServSafe or equivalent).

Familiarity with POS systems, inventory management software, and Microsoft Office
