Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing the movement of goods within our warehouse, ensuring accurate order fulfillment, and maintaining seamless shipping and receiving operations. Your expertise in forklift operation, inventory management, and warehouse procedures will be vital to supporting our distribution processes. Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and order pickers safely to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse.
- Manage inbound shipments by verifying delivery documentation, inspecting goods for damage or discrepancies, and recording receipt details in inventory management software.
- Prepare outbound shipments by picking, packing, labeling, and staging products according to shipping logistics requirements.
- Utilize RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS) to accurately track inventory movements and update stock levels in real-time.
- Maintain organized storage areas by stocking shelves efficiently and ensuring proper placement of goods for easy retrieval.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies using ERP systems (Enterprise Resource Planning) such as AS400 or similar platforms.
- Ensure compliance with trade regulations and international trade standards during shipping processes.
- Support order fulfillment activities by coordinating with customer service teams to meet delivery deadlines and accuracy standards.
- Assist with packaging tasks to protect products during transit while adhering to safety guidelines.
- Perform load & unload operations while following safety protocols to prevent accidents or damage.
Experience
- Proven experience working in warehouse operations or distribution centers with a focus on shipping & receiving functions.
- Hands-on forklift certification with experience operating reach trucks, pallet jacks, and order pickers in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with inventory management software, ERP systems (such as AS400), and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying quantities accurately.
- Strong data entry skills combined with attention to detail for maintaining precise records of shipments and inventory movements.
- Knowledge of shipping logistics, trade compliance, and international trade regulations is highly desirable.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a busy warehouse setting.
- Customer service orientation with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and external partners.
