Set-Up Operator– Plastic Injection Molding Elgin. IL
Shifts Available:
Monday - Friday (some weekends as needed)
Possibility for over time
2nd: 3pm -11:30pm
3rd: 11pm-7:30am
Set-Up associates are responsible for the movement of mold tooling and auxiliary equipment to and from the molding presses and to set up the mold in the presses. Our client is a state-of-the-art manufacturer of plastic injection-molded parts and assemblies. We produce top-quality plastic parts from both commodity and engineering grade materials for many diverse industries, including emergency products and electronics, closures, hardware, medical, automotive and more.
Responsibilities
- Move mold tooling and auxiliary equipment to the molding machines and perform the set-ups.
- Install change-over when jobs are complete.
- Troubleshoot equipment, process, and mold tooling.
- Perform mold tooling inventory control.
- Maintenance and repair of equipment while assuring all safety features are in place and functioning properly.
- General shop maintenance, cleaning and organization.
- Complete required documentation and review documentation for job and correct machine.
- Complete documentation for any maintenance/safety concerns.
- Assist with material handling and quality control as needed.
- Perform certain duties and responsibilities of the Foreman in the Foreman’s absence or as requested.
Qualifications
- Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in Injection molding.
- Proficient in basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Ability to fabricate components as needed for production adjustments.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, to ensure product quality.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Must be able to lift up to 60lbs.
- Able to climb ladders.
- Sit- down Forklift required.

Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
