Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage systems across various facilities. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of critical communication and security infrastructure, including CCTV, fiber optic networks, telephony, and data cabling. Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot low voltage systems such as CCTV cameras, VoIP telephony, fiber optic cabling, Ethernet networks, and LAN/WAN infrastructure.
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately execute installations and repairs.
- Perform fiber splicing and termination to establish reliable high-speed data connections.
- Conduct network wiring using Cat5, Cat6 cables, and other cabling solutions in compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
- Utilize diagnostic tools including ohmmeters, network testers, and RF testers to identify issues and ensure system integrity.
- Repair or replace telecommunication equipment such as Cisco routers, Juniper devices, Avaya systems, and related hardware components.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including system configurations, test results, and service reports.
- Support field service operations by traveling to client sites for installation or repair tasks while providing excellent customer service throughout the process.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Low Voltage Technician or Service Technician working with electrical systems in commercial or data center environments.
- Hands-on experience with CCTV installation and maintenance, fiber splicing techniques, Ethernet network setup, and telecommunication systems including VoIP and radio frequency testing.
- Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, NEC electrical codes, and safety protocols related to low voltage wiring and electrical systems.
- Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts such as LAN/WAN architecture, network wiring standards (Cat5/Cat6), Cisco routers, Juniper equipment, and Avaya telephony systems.
- Ability to operate power tools and hand tools safely while performing equipment repair or installation tasks.
- Experience working with diagnostic tools for troubleshooting complex network or electrical issues efficiently.
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional demeanor when interacting with clients on-site or remotely.
