Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and organized Dental Front Desk Receptionist to be the welcoming face of our dental practice. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, providing exceptional customer service from check-in to check-out
- Schedule appointments accurately using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
- Verify insurance coverage, process claims, and handle billing using systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems including eClinicalWorks or similar platforms
- Collect payments, perform medical collections, and manage financial transactions with attention to detail
- Answer multi-line phone systems with professionalism, practicing excellent phone etiquette and effective communication skills
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical coding standards such as CPT, ICD-10/ICD-9 codes
- Assist with insurance verification, pre-authorizations, and coordinating care plans in collaboration with clinical staff
- Manage filing of medical records and organize medical administrative support tasks efficiently
- Support office management by handling clerical duties such as data entry, typing (including 10-key), and maintaining organized files
Skills
- Proven experience in a dental or medical office environment with strong front desk or receptionist background
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Meditech, Epic, or Athenahealth; proficiency in Meditech or similar platforms is a plus
- Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), and insurance billing processes
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), typing speed (10-key), and familiarity with office management software like eClinicalWorks or Dentrix
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and health information management standards
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and professionally
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Experience with multi-line phone systems and medical scheduling software to coordinate appointments seamlessly
- Ability to review documentation thoroughly for accuracy while maintaining high levels of organization and efficiency
