American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (CPCU) position in Hawaii, requiring telemetry experience and an active Hawaii RN license.

Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in an acute care hospital setting
-
15-bed unit consisting of 3 Step-Down ICU beds and 12 telemetry beds
-
Patient ratios: 1:4 for Progressive Care and 1:3 for Step-Down ICU
-
Procedures include primary nursing care, telemetry monitoring, telemetry strip reading, and fingerstick blood glucose testing
-
Equipment used includes BIPAP and continuous cardiac monitoring
-
Charting via Meditech; medications dispensed via Pyxis
-
Varied shift schedule, 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation
-
No on-call responsibilities

Floating required to all acute units in-house, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER
-
Active Hawaii RN license required by start of assignment; candidates without one must apply upon acceptance of offer

Minimum 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year

BLS/BCLS required
-
ACLS preferred
-
PALS preferred
-
NIHSS certification preferred

Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred

All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to the start of the assignment; this appointment is held at Hilo Employee Health and attendance is mandatory

Travelers should plan to arrive in Hawaii by the Thursday before a Monday start date in order to attend the Employee Health appointment on Friday morning
