Job Summary
We are on the lookout for a passionate and skilled Experienced Chef to join our culinary team for Thursday through Saturday evening shifts. As an integral part of our kitchen crew, you'll be responsible for designing new menu items, preparing meals with precision, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring every plate meets our quality expectations. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Execute various cooking techniques including poaching, braising, grilling, and food production to create flavorful dishes.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to food safety sanitizing procedures.
- Assist with menu planning and meal preparation, supporting high-volume food production needs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, following all food safety and sanitization protocols.
- Support dietary department requirements by preparing specialized meals and handling dietary restrictions with care.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy evening hours and uphold excellent food handling standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in fine dining or restaurant kitchens with a strong background in food preparation and culinary techniques.
- Knowledge of food safety management, sanitizing procedures, and proper food handling practices.
- Skilled in various cooking methods such as grilling, braising, poaching, and knife skills.
- Experience with high-volume production environments and catering is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Previous dietary aide or dietary department experience is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
- If you want more hours:
- Opportunities exist for you to do work in the daytime as a barista, cook, dishwasher, etc. If Thursday-Saturday Evenings are not enough hours for you, we can mix and match! However, evening availability on those days is a must.
