We are seeking a skilled and motivated City of Buffalo LICENSED Journeyman Plumber to join our dynamic construction and maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems across a variety of commercial and residential projects. Your expertise will ensure that plumbing systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all relevant codes and standards. Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems including pipes, fixtures, and appliances on construction sites and during remodeling projects
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute plumbing layouts
- Use hand tools, power tools, pipe threading machines, and welding equipment to complete installations and repairs
- Conduct routine inspections of plumbing systems to identify issues and perform preventative maintenance
- Collaborate with construction teams, carpenters, HVAC technicians, and other trades to ensure seamless project execution
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely while handling pipes, fixtures, and equipment in accordance with safety protocols
- Troubleshoot mechanical problems related to plumbing systems using mechanical knowledge and basic math skills
Qualifications
- Valid journeyman plumber license or certification with proven field experience in construction plumbing
- Extensive knowledge of construction site procedures, schematics, and blueprint reading
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, pipe threading equipment, welding tools, and schematics interpretation
- Experience working on commercial or residential construction sites with a focus on plumbing installation and repair
- Strong mechanical aptitude combined with basic math skills for measurements and calculations
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in various work environments
- Knowledge of HVAC systems, remodeling processes, maintenance practices, and handyman skills is a plus
- Valid driver’s license for commercial driving is preferred but not mandatory
- City of Buffalo Licensed Journeyman Plumbing License REQUIRED
