Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Truck Driver and take charge of delivering freight safely, efficiently, and on time across various routes. This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate a range of commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers. You will be responsible for transporting goods over the road (OTR), ensuring compliance with all safety regulations, and providing exceptional service to our clients. Duties
- Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, following all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations
- Plan and navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries across OTR driving routes
- Load and unload freight manually or with equipment, handling logistics cargo with care to prevent damage or safety hazards
- Transport hazardous materials (Hazmat) and dangerous goods in compliance with hazardous materials regulations
- Deliver freight to various locations, ensuring accurate documentation and proper handling of all cargo including refrigerated goods and automobile transportation
- Perform routine vehicle inspections, maintenance checks, and report any mechanical issues promptly to maintain truck safety standards
- Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, delivery records, and inspection reports in accordance with FMCSA regulations
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving with a focus on freight handling
- Knowledge of truck loading and unloading techniques, including manual handling skills for logistics cargo handling
- Familiarity with GPS navigation tools for efficient route planning across OTR routes
- Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and safely
- Understanding of DOT regulations related to driver hours-of-service, load securement, and safety protocols
- Experience with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or specialized equipment such as hazardous materials transport is highly desirable
- Strong driving skills with a clean driving record; experience in delivery driver roles preferred
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating deliveries and adhering to safety standards
